1 STOP Lighting & Grip has developed a specialized equipment and service to recover and reuse helium from lighting and grip balloons. At the end of a production day, based on a 6 cylinder helium balloon capacity, over 95% of helium left can be recovered, thanks to our low pressure transfer and storage procedures, this process quicker and helps maintain a high percentage of helium purity for future use.
How It Works:

How It Works:
- Initial Fill: Balloons are filled with helium at the start of the day.
- Helium Loss: During use, some helium escapes through relief valves and the balloon envelope.
- End-of-Day Recovery: Instead of wasting the remaining helium, it is transferred from one balloon to another or stored in low pressure tanks for reuse on another day or at another location.
- Reuse: The recovered “2nd USE Helium” has been successfully reused up to six times, providing significant cost savings to productions.
- The equipment is UL approved and includes built-in safety measures to prevent over-pressurization of tanks, connectors, and hoses.
- These procedures result in safer working conditions and faster balloon fills, as they reduce the stress associated with high-pressure helium fills.
Benefits:
- Cost Savings: Reusing helium multiple times reduces expenses to productions.
- Safety: Lower pressure systems and safety features minimize risks.
- Efficiency: Faster fills and less wasted helium streamline operations.
